HAV permit process
Through the Working Group, MDOT developed a permit process for testing highly automated vehicles (HAV) on Maryland roadways. For those entities, MDOT stands ready to help you through the HAV permit process. Entities’ requests, requirements, and timing can be identified during the follow-up dialogue after submission of an EOI. MDOT realizes each testing scenario is unique, and we are ready and willing to work with organizations interested in collaborating on connected and automated vehicle technology to better understand the needs of the entity and to help ensure safety is prioritized.
