Working Group

In 2015, Maryland’s Transportation Secretary established the Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAV) Working Group as the central point of coordination for the development and deployment of emerging CAV technologies in Maryland. This inclusive collaboration provides an opportunity to develop plans for CAV in our State, positioning Maryland to identify opportunities and be responsive to this emerging technology.

CAV Working Group Membership Includes:

  • Law Enforcement
  • Traffic Safety
  • Planning
  • Engineering
  • Economic Development
  • Regional, State, & Local Government
  • Policy Makers
  • Trucking Industry
  • Private Industry
  • Education
  • And others

Subgroups

Subgroups are an important avenue for stakeholders to openly discuss CAV efforts, create documentation, and elevate new ideas to help meet Maryland’s CAV Vision and Strategic Framework. Members act as liaison to their respective organizations, and as a conduit for the transfer of appropriate information. The CAV Working Group can also assign tasks to the Subgroups, as appropriate, in order to facilitate action on open issues, concerns, or ideas.
